Any Which Way Quilt

The Any Which Way quilt is an exploration of textile waste reduction and visible piecing.  Linen and cotton studio offcuts from Nadinoo clothing in Rutland, UK, left largely in the shape they arrived to minimise waste and visibly joined with a thick black running stitch.  Dense freeform handquilting with cotton sashiko thread joins the top to the cotton wadding and pieced back.  Small marks on the fabric have been darned with cotton thread and the whole is framed by a black linen binding.  The result is a playful quilt full of movement, suitable for practical use or hanging on a wall.
